Cast Member: Lowell Lo

Hui delivers an always watchable and occasionally hilarious production that works on a number of different levels.

It’s good to see Hong Kong actor/composer Lowell Lo again, and Andy Lau is always charming. Nevertheless, ‘Find Your Voice’ is as subtle as a hammer to the kneecaps.

With consistent pacing, a convincing story and an effortless mixture of comedy and romance, it is no wonder that ‘Heart To Hearts’ was successful enough to spawn two sequels and numerous imitators.

Whether she’s using a bull-whip, fighting Hwang Jang Lee or enjoying a momentary pause, Yeoh controls this film with pure class.

‘Now You See Love… Now You Don’t’ is engrossing and eventually quite touching.

What the potential viewers will get with this enjoyable production is a solid combination of some amusing comedy scenes, a few dramatic moments and a couple of well choreographed action sequences.

The final reel is raw power and energy as Sammo takes on a small army of goons before meeting his match in Billy Chow.

While ‘Rosa’ isn’t one of the best action-comedies to come out of Hong Kong in the 80’s, it is still a constantly watchable one.

‘The Top Bet’ is that very parochial fusion of gambling and ‘nonsense comedy’ (mo lei tau) that many of us are still baffled by after all of these years.
