Cast Member: Shing Fui-On

‘To Err Is Humane’ provides further proof of Sammo Hung’s versatility and makes a pleasant addition to his vast filmography.

‘Tragic Hero’ goes harder than its predecessor, jettisoning much of the overwrought drama and focusing on revenge mayhem and improved action.

Of course this wouldn’t be a Wong Jing film if some of the jokes weren’t bordering on tasteless and there are a couple that stretch the imagination, but thankfully they do little to deviate from the film’s general fun and frivolity.

Not quite knowing whether it is a comedy, action film or thriller, ‘What A Hero!’ manages to put in so many elements without ever succeeding in any of them.

Although this film is not his very best, it is still worth watching for Hong Kong newcomers and is a definite recommendation for Chow completists.

Kent Cheng gives the best performance of his career in a role that always manages to avoid histrionics.
