Starting off as a black comedy, things soon turn more sinister, and gory, in this inventive and must see slice of Thai cinema.

If you want to experience a beautiful, touching drama with a dreamlike atmosphere, then ‘3-Iron’ comes highly recommended.

‘6 Bullets’ is a decent little action B movie with a couple of enjoyable fights and a fine performance from Van Damme as the grizzled assassin.

If any viewer has been brought up on the Hong Kong musicals that Jeff Lau’s work alludes to, this will be highly recommended.

This is the ‘Citizen Kane’ of HK heroic bloodshed films and it never ages, even after repeat viewings.

What this film lacks in plot, it sure as hell makes up for in action and the finale of ‘A Better Tomorrow II’ is a brutal display of guns, grenades and swordplay.

A true gangster epic with brilliant performances, direction and action and not a mockney geezer or wideboy in sight. Simply: great.

While not without some dry humour, Jack Ng’s courtroom drama is a mostly sober look at a theme that pops up in cinema worldwide, namely how the legal system tends to favour those with money and influence.

A crackerjack Korean comedy that features a wonderful double act by Lee Sun-Kyun and Cho Jin-Woong as the oddball antagonists.

Not the best star or director have done but an entertaining slice of super cool 70s style nevertheless and certainly entertaining once Wang Yu erupts into action. 

Jimmy Wang Yu, Angelo Mao, a very young Bolo Yeung, and one-time Bond, George Lazenby teamed up for this Golden Harvest-produced attempt at cracking the international market.

‘A Taste Of Killing And Romance’ may do enough to pass the time if you’re a fan of any of the actors involved but it’s certainly far from anyone’s finest work.
