There are so much better examples of Japanese comedy out there which means that ‘Time Trip App’ has very little to recommend it.

If viewed with low expectations or caught randomly on late night TV, ‘Timecop 2: The Berlin Decision’ might make for a minor distraction.

It’s extreme, it’s sleazy, it’s as mad as a bag of snails (and even features a woman who is half snail!) but it is a lot of fun.

‘Ultracop 2000’ is a risible film which attempts to be an action, comedy, fantasy film, but fails miserably on all counts.

Despite being labelled as a DTV outing, ‘Universal Soldier: Regeneration’ emerges as both an entertaining entry into the franchise and a respectable little action movie.

You will probably have to be in a certain mood to watch a film as pessimistic as this, but the reward is an excellent piece of entertainment with plenty of food for thought.

‘Wait ‘Til You’re Older’ is commercial film-making at its most polished, yet contains a few brave decisions by director Teddy Chen.

Finally arriving after those teaser trailers taunted us with big-budget rampaging robot action, ‘Warriors of Future’ may not quite live up to its barmy high concept, but it gives it a good go.

The casting of Andy Lau and Gong Li – and the inclusion of a somewhat wasted Russell Wong – added to a plush Beijing setting might make this a more appealing watch than first thought.
