Blu-ray & Digital release: ‘Hiroshima’

Arrow Academy are bringing the 1953 Japanese war drama ‘Hiroshima’ (ひろしま) to UK, US and CA Blu-ray and Digital on July 13, 2020.
Directed by Hideo Sekigawa, the film is a powerful evocation of the devastation wrought by the world’s first deployment of the atomic bomb and its aftermath. The cast includes Eiji Okada, Isuzu Yamada, Yoshi Kato, Shizue Kawarazaki, and Yumeji Tsukioka.
Synopsis: In 1945, the Americans dropped two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. ‘Hiroshima’ tells the story of the former as seen through the eyes of the targeted civilians, in particular the children. The film details their lives as they cope with the effects of the war, become victims of the atomic bomb, and subsequently have to try to exist in the aftermath.
