Blu-ray & Digital release: ‘Maborosi’

BFI are bringing the 1995 Japanese drama ‘Maborosi’ (幻の光) to UK Blu-ray and Digital on July 20, 2020.
Directed by Hirokazu Koreeda, the film revolves around a young woman who attempts to find meaning in her life after she loses her husband. The cast includes Makiko Esumi, Takashi Naito, Tadanobu Asano, Gohki Kashiyama, and Naomi Watanabe.
Synopsis: Yumiko is troubled by the notion that she brings death to people close to her. Following the loss of her grandmother and husband, she remarries and begins to find happiness anew. But on a return to her old home for her brother’s wedding, a flood of troubling memories begins to haunt her.
