Blu-ray & DVD release: ‘Cesium Fallout’

Edko Films are bringing the 2024 Hong Kong action disaster movie ‘Cesium Fallout’ (焚城) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on April 3, 2025.

Directed by Anthony Pun, the film revolves around a government advisor, an executive, and firefighters who embark on a high-stakes mission after a massive fire exposes a radiation crisis caused by illegal garbage smuggling. The cast includes Andy Lau, Bai Yu, Karen Mok, Tse Kwan-Ho, Ivana Wong, Louise Wong, Fish Liew, Bowie Lam, and Michael Wong Man-Tak.

Synopsis: An accident at a recycling yard leads to a leak of the radioactive material Cesium-137. Millions of lives are at stake if the radiation spreads across the city. Radiation expert Simon Fan (Andy Lau) joins the emergency crisis response team but finds himself up against frustrating government officials, as Acting Chief Executive Cecilia Wong (Karen Mok) chooses to withhold information from the public. The fire brigade, including Simon’s brother-in-law Kit (Bai Yu), is dispatched deep into the radiation zone to stop the radiation disaster. On this longest day, Hong Kong faces an unprecedented catastrophe that may destroy the entire city.
