Panorama are bringing the 1984 Hong Kong romantic comedy ‘Teppanyaki’ (鐵板燒) to Hong Kong Blu-ray and DVD on March 31, 2022.
Written and directed by Michael Hui, the film revolves around an oppressed chef and husband who finally feels real love for the first time after meeting a new woman. The cast includes Michael Hui, Sally Yeh, Frances Yip, Lo Hoi-Pang, and Paul Che.
Synopsis: Johnny (Michael Hui) is a penniless and hen-pecked teppanyaki chef who works for his father-in-law (Lo Hoi Pang). Years of being abused by his wife and father-in-law have left Johnny and his grandfather with little dignity to speak of. One day, Johnny meets Sissy (Sally Yeh) and feels love for the first time. He wholeheartedly pursues Sissy and tries to arrange an overseas vacation together, but his wife and her friends show up for the trip. Unable to endure his wife and father-in-law any longer, Johnny decides to leave home with his grandfather.
