Blu-ray release: ‘Android Kikaider’

Discotek Media are bringing the 1972-1973 Japanese tokusatsu TV show ‘Android Kikaider’ (人造人間キカイダー)  to US Blu-ray on May 27, 2025.

Directed by Hidetoshi Kitamura, the series follows a transforming super-android who is on the run from an evil organization. The cast includes Daisuke Ban, Jun Mizunoe, Masahiro Kamiya, Shun Ueda, Hajime Izu, and Mitsuo Ando.

Synopsis: To most people, Jiro’s just another guitarist drifting his way through the countryside. But in reality, the young troubadour is the heroic android Kikaider! Secretly constructed to combat Professor Gill and the cybernetic forces of DARK, Jiro fights to dismantle their machinations of world domination! However, the monstrous androids of DARK’s Destruction Corps aren’t about to let Jiro prevail so easily.
