Blu-ray release: ‘Hero’

Imprint Films are bringing the 2002 Chinese wuxia film ‘Hero’ (英雄) to Australian Blu-ray on July 2, 2024.
Co-written and directed by Zhang Yimou, the film follows a nameless soldier who is summoned for an audience with the king after he single-handedly kills the three most notorious assassins in the land. The cast includes Jet Li, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Maggie Cheung, Chen Daoming, Donnie Yen, and Zhang Ziyi.
Synopsis: With supernatural skill, a nameless soldier embarks on a mission of revenge against the fearsome army that massacred his people. Now, to achieve the justice he seeks, he must take on the empire’s most ruthless assassins and reach the enemy he has sworn to defeat.
