Blu-ray release: ‘Immortal Story’

88 Films are bringing the 1986 Hong Kong drama ‘Immortal Story’ (海上花) to UK Blu-ray on July 15, 2024.
Written and directed by Yonfan, the film focuses on the relationship between a chanteuse and her Japanese lover from the time they first meet to the present day where she is now at rock bottom and he’s a washed-up drug addict. The cast includes Sylvia Chang, Yiu Wai, Shingo Tsurumi, Paul Chun Pui, Lee Mak, and Chan Jun-Kwok.
Synopsis: Set in the then Portuguese colony of Macau, ‘Immortal Story’ revolves around the love affair between a small-time chanteuse and her Japanese beau. They first met when both were young and again many years later when she had become a fallen woman and he a drug addict.
