Blu-ray release: ‘Space Sheriff Shaider – The Complete Series’

Discotek Media are bringing the 1984/1985 Japanese tokusatsu television show ‘Space Sheriff Shaider’ (宇宙刑事シャイダー) to US Blu-ray on September 24, 2024.

The series, which is the last in the ‘Space Sheriff Trilogy’, revolves around a freshly graduated space sheriff who returns home to help defend the Earth from the Great Emperor Kubilai. The cast includes Hiroshi Tsuburaya, Naomi Morinaga, Toshiaki Nishizawa, Shozo Izuka, Jun Yoshida, Yumiko Furaya, and Kazuhiko Kudo.

Synopsis: Within the blink of an eye, the entire galaxy is plunged into an all-out war at the hands of Wonder Realm Fuuma and their insidious don, the Great Emperor Kubilai! After the tragic destruction of Planet Mount, a fresh class of space sheriff trainees are dispatched to push back the Fuuma threat. Now a full-fledged space sheriff, Dai Sawamura returns home to defend the Earth as Space Sheriff Shaider! With fellow sheriff Annie and the overwhelming might of the battleship Babylos on his side, Earth’s third intergalactic guardian won’t hesitate to blow the Fuuma away.
