Blu-ray release: ‘The Golden Lotus’

88 Films are bringing the 1974 Hong Kong erotic drama ‘The Golden Lotus’ (金瓶雙艷) to US and UK Blu-ray on September 9/10, 2024.

Written and directed by Li Han-Hsiang and based on the novel by Lanling Xiaoxiaosheng, the film revolves around a passionate – and sometimes destructive – love affair between a rich man and a poor woman. The cast includes Peter Yang Kwan, Hu Chin, Chen Ping, Tanny Tien Ni, Chiang Nan, Tin Ching, Dean Shek, and Jackie Chan.

Synopsis: Hsi-Men Ching (Peter Yang Kwan) woos a beautiful woman, Pan Chin-lien (Hu Chin), and together they hatch a plot to murder Pan’s husband. However, the adulterer and adulteress don’t get it all their own way, and the wonderful life they hoped for doesn’t materialise…
