Blu-ray release: ‘Your Lovely Smile’

Third Window Films are bringing the 2022 Japanese comedy-drama ‘Your Lovely Smile’ (あなたの微笑み) to UK Blu-ray on August 12, 2024.

Written and directed by Lim Kah-Wai, the film follows an indie filmmaker as he tries to get a film screened in Japan’s so-called mini theatres. The cast includes Hirobumi Watanabe, Shogen, Hikaru Hirayama, Hironobu Tanaka, and Yoshi Yatabe.

Synopsis: A bittersweet, hilarious, enlightening and inspirational road trip through Japanese arthouse cinemas with independent filmmaker Hirobumi Watanabe, who also struggles to release his own movies in real life.
