The latest edition of Kugane Maruyama’s ‘Overlord’ light novel series is set to reveal that a new compilation movie of the anime adaptation is currently in the works.
‘Overlord’ takes place in the year 2138 when virtual reality gaming is booming, although a popular online game by the name of Yggdrasil is about to be shut down. However, a young man by the name of Momonga refuses to log out, and then gets transformed into a powerful skeletal wizard. The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) beginning to feel emotions. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, Momonga strives to take over the new world that the game has become.
The ‘Overlord’ anime originally aired in July 2015 and ran for a total of 13 episodes (available for pre-order now from Amazon.com). Although it proved to be fairly popular, a second season is still yet to be announced.
