‘Hitman 2’ (히트맨2) is a 2024 South Korean action comedy directed by Choi Won-Sub.
The film, which is a sequel to 2020’s ‘Hitman: Agent Jun’, finds webtoon artist Jun implicated in orchestrating a terrorist attack that closely resembles a storyline featured in one of his comics. The cast includes Kwon Sang-Woo, Jung Joon-Ho, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, Lee Yi-Kyung, and Kim Sung-Oh.
Synopsis: Jun, who gained brief fame as the creator of the hit webtoon assassination agent Jun, quickly earns the reputation of a “brainless writer” when Season 2 begins and fails miserably. Surprisingly, the flop sparks a wave of interest among global villains in Korea, all fixated on Jun. Unaware of this, Jun starts working on a new webtoon, hoping for another major success. However, when a terrorist attack mirroring his story takes place, the National Intelligence Service accuses Jun of being the mastermind behind the crime.
‘Hitman 2’ opens across South Korea on January 22, 2025.
