‘Shanghai Fortress’ (上海堡垒) is an upcoming Chinese sci-fi thriller directed by Teng Hua-Tao.
Based on a novel by Jiang Nan, the film revolves around a group of friends who sign up to fight against an alien force that is invading Earth to harvest a hidden energy. The cast includes Shu Qi, Lu Han, Godfrey Gao, and Shi Liang.
Synopsis: Set in the future, the city of Shanghai, China battles to defend itself against an ongoing attack by an alien force that has already laid siege to numerous cities around the globe in it’s quest to harvest a hidden energy found only on Earth.
‘Shanghai Fortress’ opens across China in the Summer of 2019.
