‘You Made My Dawn’ (夜が明けたら、いちばんに君に会いにいく) is a 2023 Japanese romantic drama co-written and directed by Mai Sakai.
Based on a novel by Natsue Shiomi, the film follows a high school girl who finds herself strangely drawn to a boy with a habit of saying exactly what he thinks. The cast includes Ruki Shiroiwa, Rinka Kumada, Yumena Yanai, Takafumi Imai, and Shuhei Uesugi.
Synopsis: Akane Niwa (Rinka Kumada) is an “A student” in her high school class. Everyone in her class loves her except for one person, Seiji Fukagawa (Ruki Shiroiwa). Seiji is honest and open enough to say “I don’t like you” to Akane. Still, Akane feels something different about him. After all, she was only pretending to be an “A student” to hide her dark past. But being seen right through by Seiji, Akane sees the world completely differently and everything starts to change. [Source: Cinando]
