Theatrical release: ‘Godzilla Minus One’

Anime Limited and Toho Co. are bringing the 2023 Japanese kaiju movie ‘Godzilla Minus One’ (ゴジラ-1.0 / Gojira -1.0) to UK and Irish cinemas on December 15, 2023.

Written and directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the film finds a post-World War II Japan facing a new threat after the legendary monster appears. The cast includes Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, and Hidetaka Yoshioka.

Synopsis: Feeling as if he unfairly cheated death too many times, Shikishima, a surviving Kamikaze pilot, is attacked on Odo Island along with many war plane engineers by a gargantuan monster. After the engineers die because of Shikishima failing to distract the monster, an overwhelming amount of guilt weighs on him, especially after a homeless woman and a baby move into his home when he returns. Shikishima, now on a personal mission, teams up with a large group of veterans to finally take down the monster known as Godzilla.

Synopsis: Japan, devastated after the war, faces a new threat in the form of Godzilla. How will the country confront this impossible situation?
