KimStim are bringing the 2023 Chinese crime thriller ‘Only the River Flows’ (河边的错误) to select US and Canadian theatres from July 26, 2024.
Based on a novel by Yu Hua and written and directed by Wei Shujun, the film follows a police chief as he investigates a series of murders in a riverside town in rural China in the 1990s. The cast includes Zhu Yilong, Chloe Maayan, Hou Tianlai, Tong Linkai, Kang Chunlei, and Zeng Qi.
Synopsis: 1990s small town China. A woman’s body washes up in the local river. The chief of police, Ma Zhe, is tasked with heading up the investigation. An obvious perp leads to a hasty arrest, though the mystery lingers in Ma Zhe’s mind. What kind of darkness is truly at play here?
