Trailer: ‘A Girl & Her Guard Dog’

‘A Girl & Her Guard Dog’ (お嬢と番犬くん) is a 2025 Japanese romantic drama directed by Keiichi Kobayashi.

Based on the manga by Hatsuharu, the film revolves around the granddaughter of a yakuza clan leader who enrols in a new high school and is followed by her dedicated guardian. The cast includes Riko Fukumoto, Jesse Lewis, Kaito Sakurai, Kanon, Haruna Matsui, and Sora Inoue.

Synopsis: Isaku Senagaki (Riko Fukumoto) lost her parents when she was very young and was brought up by her grandfather, the head of the Senagaki yakuza clan. Isaku was isolated because of her position and struggled to make friends. When she enrols in a new high school, she hides her family connections and vows to try and live a “normal” life. However, Keiya Uto (Jesse Lewis), a young leader of the Senagaki clan and Isaku’s guardian, falsifies his age and enrols in the same high school to act as her bodyguard. [© Far East Films]
