‘Are You Lonesome Tonight?’ (热带往事) is a 2021 Chinese psychological thriller directed by Wen Shipei.

The film revolves around three people who are all touched by the hand of fate during a hot summer night.  The cast includes Eddie Peng, Sylvia Chang, Wang Yanhui, Zhang Yu, and Jiang Peiyao.

Synopsis: On a hot summer night in the south, the lives of three people are touched by fate. Young Wang Xueming (Eddie Peng) is the first affected after he is involved in an accident. Meanwhile, Liang Ma’s (Sylvia Chang) husband  suddenly disappears, so she seeks the help of Inspector Chen, unaware that she has become someone else’s next “target”. As for Officer Chen (Wang Yanhui), he quickly finds that the case involving Liang’s husband is developing far beyond his control… [© Far East Films]
