‘Bogota: City of the Lost’ (보고타: 마지막 기회의 땅) is a 2024 South Korean crime thriller co-written and directed by Kim Sung-Je.
The film revolves around a young man who moves to Colombia in search of a better life but finds himself drawn into working on Bogota’s black market. The cast includes Song Joong-Ki, Lee Hee-Jun, Kwon Hae-Hyo, Park Ji-Hwan, and Cho Hyun-Chul.
Synopsis: In 1997, due to the IMF crisis, Guk-Hui’s (Song Joong-Ki) family business collapsed in South Korea. He and his family decided to move to Bogota, Colombia. To survive in the unfamiliar country, Guk-Hui begins to work for Mr. Park (Kwon Hae-Hyo), who is the most powerful person in the Korean Merchants’ Association. Guk-Hui’s works hard and draws the attention of Mr. Park. As a test, Mr. Park places Guk-Hui in a clothing smuggling operation. Guk-Hui is almost caught by customs in Columbia and he risks his life to protect Mr. Park’s merchandise. This makes a deep impression on both Mr. Park and customs broker Soo-Young (Lee Hee-Jun).
