‘Breaking Through’ (我心飞扬) is a 2022 Chinese sports drama directed by Wang Fangfang.

Inspired by real events, the film tells the story of the Chinese national short-track speed skating team as they attempt to win a gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympic Games. The cast includes Meng Meiqi, Xia Yu, Rina Sa, Pei Kuishan, Jiao Gang, Zhang Guoqiang, Liang Wenhui, Xu Qin, Li Muzi, and Li Jiaxin.

Synopsis: In 1980, the Chinese delegation began participating in the Winter Olympics, but they repeatedly missed out on a gold medal. Failure and resentment stabbed at the hearts of the Chinese people like a needle. In order to achieve a breakthrough, Qin Xuan formed the Chinese short track speed skating national team with Yang Fan as the main representative. Together they realise they are on the verge of a gold medal, but the relationship between master and disciple faces a fierce collision and a heavy test. [© Far East Films]
