‘Burning Stars’ (孤星计划) is a 2024 Chinese historical suspense drama co-written and directed by Xu Zhanxiong.

The film revolves around a group of ordinary people who are tasked with a seemingly impossible secret mission of great historical significance. The cast includes Roy Wang, Zhang Xueying, Liang Jingkang, Li Chen, Yin Xiaotian, Han Tongsheng, Yu Ailei, Dong Yong, J_Black, Zhai Xiaowen, Zhang Xiaochen, Chen Yusi, and Li Jiaxin.

Synopsis: In the 1920s, the whole city was blockaded during the White Terror. Li Yimin (Roy Wang) was ordered to escort an important person out of the city in secret. However, the organisation had been seriously damaged and was struggling at this time. Li Yimin decides to seek help in secret, and he encounters his teacher Hou Shaolie (Li Chen), fellow worker Zhang Guisheng (Yin Xiaotian), fellow student Ding Menghua (Zhang Xueying), Xu Tianping (Liang Jingkang), Jiang Yue (J_Black), Luo Shiwen (Zhai Xiaowen), Zhou Wensu (Li Jiaxin), and other old friends who have long since embarked on a different path in their lives. The “Lone Star Squad” is once again assembled, and the evacuation plan that was thought to be carefully laid out had already been shrouded in the enemy’s net.
