‘Copo A Copo’ (コーポ・ア・コーポ / Corpo A Corpo) is a 2023 Japanese drama directed by Masaaki Jindo.
Based on a webcomic by Renji Iwanami, the film revolves around a runaway who begins living at an apartment complex where she meets a number of interesting characters. The cast includes Fumika Baba, Masahiro Higashide, Yuki Kura, Takashi Sasano, and Oshiro Maeda.
Synopsis: Yuri Tatsumi (Fumika Baba) breaks free from the chains of her family and runs away. She now lives as a freeter and resides at the cheap apartment complex Copo in Osaka. Other residents there include Hiroshi Nakajo (Masahiro Higashide), Teppei Ishida (Yuki Kura), and Yuzo Miyaji (Takashi Sasano). These residents all have their own stories. Hiroshi makes a living by receiving contributions from women. Teppei does labour work and is not good at expressing his feelings to women. Yuzo doesn’t talk about his past and seems to be involved in a suspicious business. One day, Yuzo finds that another resident there named Yamaguchi has hanged himself to death.
