Trailer: ‘Dawn Break’

‘Dawn Break’ (噬魂岛) is a 2024 Chinese horror thriller co-written and directed by Wei Donglei.

The film revolves around a group of cruise passengers who find themselves shipwrecked on an island that harbours a dark secret. The cast includes Wu Yue, Cai Pengfei, Wan Sijia, Zhou Chaojun, Fei Weini, Wang Sheng, and Cao Han.

Synopsis: On a sunny holiday, a sightseeing cruise ship heading to the ‘Happy Island’ suffered a shipwreck, and only Ning Yu, Zhang Xinchen and a few survivors were washed up on an isolated island with no coordinates and no signal. They soon realise that this peaceful island is not a sanctuary and has an eerie atmosphere everywhere. Ning Yu, Ah Qiang and the others searched for a water source, and in a huge stone cave, they found two dry corpses and an old red notebook. That night, Ah Qiang looked pale and mumbled like he was possessed and that red notebook records the never-before-seen horrors these survivors are about to face. [© Far East Films]
