Trailer: ‘Fake Bodyguard’

‘Fake Bodyguard’ (冒牌大保镖) is a 2021 Chinese comedy directed by Xiao Yang.

The film follows three tour guides who jokingly volunteer to be bodyguards but soon realise that the person they are protecting is in genuine danger. The cast includes Wang Taili, Liu Yan, Wang Luojia, Yin Xiaotian, Chao Jiang, Ho Shao-Hung, and Si Ligeng.

Synopsis: Three friends (Wang Taili, Liu Yan, and Wang Luojia) decide to form their own tour guide company in Burma. One of their first clients is Professor Chen (Ho Shao-Hung), a highly respected medical expert who will be speaking at an upcoming summit. Due to his position, the professor is worried about his safety so the tour guides jokingly agree to be his personal bodyguards. When the threat turns out to be real however, the guides suddenly realise that they are going up against a professional killer. [© Far East Films]
