‘Hot Pot Artist’ (火锅艺术家) is a 2025 Chinese comedy co-written and directed by Cui Zhijia.

The film revolves around a struggling movie director who turns his studio into a hot pot restaurant to pay off his mounting debts. The cast includes Cui Zhijia, Jiao Junyan, Zhang Qi, Yu Yang, Li Kunying, Diao Biao, and Song Xiaobao.

Synopsis: Struggling director Li Ruyi (Cui Zhijia) finds himself in deep water after his creditor calls him to collect on his debts. After enlisting the help of his friends, Li decides to change the crew warehouse into a hot pot restaurant rather than go home to inherit his father-in-law’s hot pot restaurant. As his new business begins to take off, Li enters the city’s hot pot restaurant competition, hoping to win the grand prize that will allow him to pay off his debts and make the film he has always dreamed of.
