‘Lies My Father Told Me’ (爸爸的谎言) is a 2023 Chinese drama directed by Yang Musheng.

The film revolves around the father of an adopted girl who, after learning that he is seriously ill, lies to his daughter so that he can prepare her for his passing. The cast includes Hou Tianlai, Jing Xitong, Dana Fu, Rick Xu, and Zhu Shuoran.

Synopsis: Tricycle driver Liu Afu adopted a baby girl ten years ago named Xiaohua. Since the death of his partner three years ago, he and Xiaohua have been dependent on each other. One day, Afu faints at work and is sent to the hospital where he is told that he is seriously ill. Due to the expensive medical fees, Afu decides to give up the treatment. Thinking that their time together is running out, Afu decides the best thing for Xiaohua is to send her to her biological parents.
