‘Personal Persistence’ (仲肯) is a 2023 Chinese drama written and directed by Xing Xiao.

The film follows a man who spends his time wandering Tibet, hoping that he can fulfil his desire to become the singer of King Gesar’s legendary stories. The cast includes Li Tai and Zhou Jingbo.

Synopsis: A Han Chinese man named Zhong Ken has been wandering in the Tibetan area for many years. Although he originally did it to escape the pain in his heart, he has found himself desperately wanting to become the same Zhong Ken who was known for being the singer of King Gesar’s legendary stories. Eventually though, due to the people and events he encountered on the road, he gradually has to let go of his obsession and return to his life. [© Far East Films]
