Trailer: ‘Sayuri’

‘Sayuri’ (サユリ) is a 2024 Japanese horror movie co-written and directed by Koji Shiraishi.

Based on the manga by Rensuke Oshikiri, the film revolves around a family who move into a new house, only to uncover that it is occupied by the spirit of a girl who was tragically murdered. The cast includes Ryoka Minamide, Hana Kondo, Zen Kajihara, Fusako Urabe, and Kitaro.

Synopsis: The Kamiki family move into their dream house. Just as the family are settling in, an unusual situation occurs: the family members start dying one by one, with a strange laughter coming from somewhere. The cause of the terror that strikes the Kamiki family is Sayuri, the spirit of a young girl who lives in the house. The shadow of Sayuri approaches the family’s eldest son, Norio, and he falls into a state of panic. Then his grandmother Harue, who is supposed to be suffering from dementia, regains consciousness and says emphatically, “I’m going to send that thing to hell”. Norio and his grandmother challenge Sayuri to a battle for revenge against her for taking away his family. [© Far East Films]
