‘Sleep Call’ is a 2023 Indonesian romantic thriller co-written and directed by Fajar Nugros.

The film revolves around a lonely woman who discovers a seemingly liberating form of love on the internet through “sleep calls” but it isn’t long before this newfound love turns deadly. The cast includes Laura Basuki, Juan Bione Subiantoro, Della Dartyan, Kristo Immanuel, Bront Palarae, and Jenny Zhang.

Synopsis: Dina, a former flight attendant trapped in debt and working for a dodgy online loan company, finds temporary relief in a charismatic stranger, Rama, whom she meets on a dating site. Their nightly ‘sleep calls’ become an addictive comfort in her troubled life. However, as their virtual relationship deepens, a disturbing series of unexplained deaths start to occur around her. As Dina wrestles with her growing love for Rama, she is unknowingly pulled into a dangerous obsession.

‘Sleep Call’ opens across Indonesia on September 7, 2023.
