‘The Dream of the Red Chamber’ (红楼梦之金玉良缘) is a 2024 Chinese period romantic drama directed by Hu Mei.
Based on the novel by Cao Xueqin, the film tells a tragic love story set during the rise and fall of four of the richest families in 18 century China. The cast includes Lin Peng, Lisa Lu, Bian Cheng, Zhang Miaoyi, Huang Jiarong, Guan Xiaotong, and Wang Ban.
Synopsis: Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu get to know Xue Baochai at the Jia Mansion. The three young people experience all kinds of human affections in the world and witness a series of open and secret struggles of the rise and fall of a huge family. [Source: TMDB]
