‘The Hedgehog’ (刺猬) is a 2024 Chinese comedy-drama co-written and directed by Gu Changwei.
Based on the short story ‘Immortal Disease’ by Zheng Zhi, the film revolves around the friendship between a rebellious teenager and his mentally ill uncle. The cast includes Ge You, Karry Wang, Li Ping, Vieven Liu, Geng Le, and Zhang Benyu.
Synopsis: Wang Zhaotuan (Ge You) is a strange man, occasionally crazy and eccentric, but with a unique sobriety. His nephew, Zhou Zheng (Wang Junkai) is a sensitive teenager who is self-absorbed due to his stutter but has a silent backbone. The two misfits give their family big problems but forge a unique friendship. [© Far East Films]
