‘The Memory Eraser’ (記憶屋 あなたを忘れない) is a 2020 Japanese romantic drama directed by Yuichiro Hirakawa.
Based on the novel ‘Kiokuya’ by Kyoya Origami, the film revolves around a young man who suddenly discovers that his girlfriend has no memory of him. The cast includes Ryosuke Yamada, Kyoko Yoshine, Misako Renbutsu, Kuranosuke Sasaki, and Rika Izumi.
Synposis: Ryoichi Yoshimori (Ryosuke Yamada) is a university student. His girlfriend, Kyoko Sawada (Misako Renbutsu) is a few years older but the pair don’t care as they are deeply in love. After Ryoichi proposes to Kyoko, she suddenly disappears. Several days later, Kyoko re-emerges but claims to have no memory of him. With the help of a classmate/lawyer Chiaki Takaharu (Kuranosuke Sasaki) and his childhood friend Maki Kawai (Kyoko Yoshine), Ryoichi attempts to unravel the mystery that may be related to the rumours of a memory erasing individual known as Kiokuya.
