Trailer: ‘Under the Light’

‘Under the Light’ (坚如磐石) is a 2023 Chinese crime drama directed by Zhang Yimou.

The film follows a pair of police officers who team up to investigate a criminal case involving a local wealthy businessman. The cast includes Lei Jiayin, Zhou Dongyu, Zhang Guoli, Yu Hewei, and Sun Yizhou.

Synopsis: Su Jianming (Lei Jiayin) and Li Huilin (Zhou Dongyu) join forces to investigate a crime that involves a huge interest group. In order to investigate the case, Su goes to a “Hongmen Banquet” hosted by a wealthy businessman, Li Zhitian (Yu Hewei), despite the protestations of his father, Zheng Gang (Zhang Guoli), who is in a position of power. After watching Li’s rampant behaviour of making fools of others and putting his hand in the hot pot, more and more clues gradually emerge.
