‘Unreachable’ (片思い世界 / Kataomoi Sekai) is a 2025 Japanese drama directed by Nobuhiro Doi.
The film revolves around three young women who are not related by blood, but share an inseparable bond and do everything together. The cast includes Suzu Hirose, Hana Sugisaki, Kaya Kiyohara, Ryusei Yokohama, Karin Ono, and Ku Ijima.
Synopsis: Sagara, Yuka Kataishi, and Sakura Asumi live together in an old house in a corner of Tokyo. They each go to work, school, or a part-time job every day, and when they come home, the three of them eat dinner together. They chat in the living room, sleep in the same bedroom, and brush their teeth together in the morning. They are neither family nor classmates but spend their days happily and carefree, thinking of each other. For 12 years, the three have been bound by a strong bond for a certain reason, and each has their own “unrequited love”… [© Far East Films]
