‘Wasabi – Not A Fairy Tale’ (復讐のワサビ) is a 2024 Japanese suspense drama written and directed by Hemant Singh.

The film revolves around a young girl who decides to go in search of a new life after being bullied since childhood due to the scars on her face. The cast includes Julian Koike, Miho Fujiwara, Keisuke Nomura, Honoka Kawabe, Yuta Inoue, and Kohei Mashiba.

Synopsis: Kano, a young girl who has been bullied since childhood due to the scars on her face, has managed to live in poverty with her alcoholic mother. An event makes her realize her hidden potential, and she decides to escape her poverty-stricken village life to pursue a brighter future. Just then, her mother gets involved in an incident, and Kano is forced to take a tough path.

‘Wasabi – Not A Fairy Tale’ opens across Japan on February 9, 2024.
