‘Ya Boy Kongming!’ (パリピ孔明 THE MOVIE) is a 2025 Japanese comedy-drama directed by Shuhei Shibue.
Based on the manga ‘Paripi Komei’ by Ryo Ogawa, the film revolves around a military strategist from the Three Kingdoms period who is reincarnated in the modern-day and becomes the manager of an amateur singer. The cast includes Osamu Mukai, Moka Kamishiraishi, Mirai Moriyama, Dean Fujioka, and Fuju Kamio.
Synopsis: Zhuge Kongming, a genius military strategist from the Three Kingdoms period, is somehow reincarnated in modern-day Shibuya and becomes the manager of amateur singer Tsukimi Eiko. Together they aim for “peace throughout the world” through the power of music. Meanwhile, it has been decided that the biggest music battle festival in history will be held, with Japan’s three major music labels, “KEY TIME”, “SSS Music”, and “V-EX”, competing for the top spot. Kongming and Eiko decide to participate, but they are stopped in their tracks by Sima Jun, a descendant of Sima Yi, Kongming’s rival from the Three Kingdoms period, and his sister, singer Shin.
