‘Lives at Right Angles’ (平行と垂直) is a 2026 Japanese drama directed by Seitaro Kobayashi.
The film focuses on the close relationship between an autistic man living independently and his younger sister, whose plans to marry bring changes for them both. The cast includes Shota Yasuda, Non, Kuu Izima, Misuzu Kanno, and Daikichi Sugawara.
Synopsis: Daiki and his younger sister Nozomi lost their mother at an early age and grew up relying on one another while distancing themselves from their neglectful father. Daiki, who has autism spectrum disorder, now works as a cleaner and lives independently with support, while Nozomi works as a counsellor and continues to look out for her brother. When Nozomi accepts a marriage proposal, she travels with Daiki from Osaka to Tokyo to meet her fiancé’s parents, forcing the siblings to confront both their shared past and what the future may hold.
