Trailer: ‘Swan and Bat’

‘Swan and Bat’ (白鳥とコウモリ) is a 2026 Japanese mystery drama directed by Yoshiyuki Kishi.

Based on the novel of the same name by Keigo Higashino, the film follows the son of a murder suspect and the daughter of his alleged victim as they join forces to uncover the truth behind a case that appears to have already been solved. The cast includes Hokuto Matsumura, Mio Imada, Tasuku Emoto, Shikan Nakamura, and Tomokazu Miura.

Synopsis: When respected lawyer Kensuke Shiraishi is stabbed to death, the case appears to be solved after Tatsuro Kuraki emerges as the prime suspect and confesses to the murder. However, Kuraki’s son Kazuma and Shiraishi’s daughter Mirei both become troubled by inconsistencies in their fathers’ behaviour. Despite being connected by a crime that should make them enemies, the pair begin investigating together, determined to discover what really happened and uncover the truth behind the murder.
