‘Home Sweet Home’ (ホーム スイート ホーム) is a 2026 Japanese fantasy comedy directed by Ayuta Yoshikawa.
Based on Tomoki Kanazawa’s 2006 stage play of the same name, the film follows four generations of the same family who find themselves brought together through a series of unexpected journeys through time. The cast includes Rintaro Hachimura, Atsuki Mashiko, Kiita Komagine, Goki Maeda, Yuno Ohara, and Kasumi Yamaya.
Synopsis: Ichiro Ueki runs a traditional rice cracker shop that has been in his family since his grandfather’s generation. One day, his son Eiro and grandson Shiro suddenly emerge from a cupboard in his home, having travelled back 28 years from the future. Before Ichiro can make sense of their arrival, the three are transported even further into the past, where they encounter his father Kotaro as a young man. With all four men somehow the same age, the generations come face to face as an unusual family meeting gets underway. [© Far East Films]
