Trailer: ‘Winter and Summer’

‘Winter and Summer’ (一路超平安) is a 2026 Chinese comedy written and directed by Sun Xiaohang.

Based on a true story, the film follows a father who takes his autistic son on a road trip south in an attempt to fulfil the boy’s dream of seeing a whale. The cast includes Qiao Shan, Huang Linghan, Chang Yuan, Francis Ng, and Pan Binlong.

Synopsis: Lao Cai is an unreliable father who works as a designated driver and dreams of giving his son Xihe a better life. Knowing that Xihe is fascinated by whales, he decides to take him on an unplanned journey south in the hope of seeing one. With little money and no real plan, the father and son encounter a succession of people and unexpected situations along the way as Lao Cai tries to fulfil his son’s wish. [© Far East Films]
