Arrow Video will release the 1999 Japanese psychological horror film ‘Audition’ (オーディション) on UK 4K UHD and Blu-ray on June 15, 2026.
Directed by Takashi Miike and adapted from Ryu Murakami’s 1997 novel, the film follows a middle-aged widower who enlists the help of his film producer friend to stage a series of fake auditions in hopes of finding a new partner. The cast includes Ryo Ishibashi, Eihi Shiina, Jun Kunimura, Miyuki Matsuda, and Toshie Negishi.
Synopsis: When recent widower Shigeharu Aoyama (Ryo Ishibashi) is advised by his son to find a new wife, he seeks the advice of a colleague after years away from dating. The two men use their positions at a film company to stage an audition to find the perfect partner.
