Imprint Films will release ‘The Cinema of King Hu: Volume One’ on Limited Edition 4K UHD and Blu-ray in Australia on June 24, 2026. The six-film set collects a selection of Hong Kong and Taiwanese wuxia classics directed by King Hu between 1965 and 1973.

Widely regarded as one of the defining filmmakers of the wuxia genre, King Hu combined influences from Peking opera, folklore, and samurai cinema to reshape martial arts filmmaking throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The set spans historical action, supernatural fantasy, political intrigue, and philosophical drama, showcasing the stylistic experimentation and choreographic precision that made Hu one of the most influential directors in Asian cinema.
