Arrow Video will release the 1986 Hong Kong action comedy ‘Peking Opera Blues’ (刀馬旦) on UK Blu-ray and 4K UHD on February 16, 2026.

Directed by Tsui Hark, the film follows three women whose lives intertwine amid political intrigue and action inside a Peking opera troupe in warlord-era China. The cast includes Brigitte Lin, Cherie Chung, Sally Yeh, Paul Chun Pui, Wu Ma, and Kenneth Tsang.

Synopsis: Beijing, 1913. In a time of violent turmoil, when local tyrants vie for supremacy, three women’s lives converge at a local Peking opera house. Together, they hatch a revolutionary plan to stop President Yuan Shikai from reinstating the monarchy and proclaiming himself emperor. With the help of a righteous freedom fighter and a disillusioned palace guard, the rebels must use all their wits and brawn to defend their democratic ideals and save the emerging Chinese republic.
