Blu-ray & 4K UHD release: 'Yi Yi'

Criterion Collection are bringing the 2000 Taiwanese drama ‘Yi Yi’ (一一) to UK Blu-ray and 4K UHD on January 19, 2026.

Written and directed by Edward Yang, the film follows a middle-class family in Taipei over the course of one year, beginning with a wedding and ending with a funeral. The cast includes Wu Nien-Jen, Elaine Jin, Kelly Lee, Jonathan Chang, and Issey Ogata.

Synopsis: Set in Taipei, the Jian family — NJ, Min-Min, their teenage daughter, young son, and the grandmother who lives with them — moves through a year of personal strain, shifting relationships, and unexpected challenges. Business pressures, emotional distance, first loves, and moments of quiet reflection shape their days as each gradually searches for clarity, connection, and meaning in the rhythms of ordinary life.
