Blu-ray, DVD, 4K UHD, & Digital release: 'The Forbidden City'

Well Go USA will release the 2025 Italian martial arts actioner ‘The Forbidden City’ (La città proibita) on US Digital on March 17 and on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K UHD on April 21, 2026.

Directed by Gabriele Mainetti, the film tracks two strangers navigating a violent conspiracy beneath Rome’s streets as danger closes in around them. The cast includes Yaxi Liu, Enrico Borello, Marco Giallini, Sabrina Ferilli, and Luca Zingaretti.

Synopsis: In Rome’s multicultural Esquilino district, a troubled young man searching for answers about his missing father crosses paths with Mei, a determined martial artist from China trying to find her vanished sister. Their investigation leads them into a dangerous criminal underworld tied to a shadowy restaurant known as the “Forbidden City,” where hidden trafficking networks and violent gangs threaten to consume them both. As their paths intertwine, they must rely on trust, resilience, and extraordinary combat skills to survive a world where loyalty is fragile and every step forward uncovers deeper secrets.
