Blu-ray release: 'Erotic Ghost Story Trilogy'

Imprint Films will release ‘Erotic Ghost Story Trilogy’ on Blu-ray in Australia on June 25, 2026. The three-film set collects the Hong Kong Category III cult favourites ‘Erotic Ghost Story’ (聊齋艷譚), ‘Erotic Ghost Story II’ (聊齋艷譚續集五通神), and ‘Erotic Ghost Story III’ (聊齋三集之燈草和尚).

Directed by Lam Nai-Choi, Peter Ngor, and Ivan Lai, the trilogy blends supernatural horror, fantasy, eroticism, and offbeat comedy, drawing inspiration from classic Chinese ghost tales while embracing the excesses of early 1990s Hong Kong Category III cinema. The cast across the trilogy includes Amy Yip, Man Siu, Hitomi Kudo, Pauline Chan, Anthony Wong, and Charine Chan.

Erotic Ghost Story (1990): Three female spirits nearing the end of a thousand-year spiritual practice take human form and retreat to a remote village, where desire and jealousy begin to disrupt their transformation. As demons close in and forbidden attraction takes hold, the boundary between mortal and supernatural worlds begins to collapse.

Erotic Ghost Story II (1991): After a forbidden romance ends in tragedy, a powerful sex demon unleashes terror on a village, demanding a virgin sacrifice each month. Only a young woman marked by destiny may hold the power to stop him.

Erotic Ghost Story III (1992): A wandering scholar becomes captivated by the image of a mysterious woman in a painting and crosses into a supernatural realm to find her, unaware he is being drawn into a trap set by a powerful demon.
